What is NiTTD?
Noninvasive Tumor Treatment Device (NiTTD) is a portable electromagnetic field generator which works by applying specific electric fields to the body through electrodes attached to the skin near the tumor site. The electric fields interfere with the normal division of cancer cells, causing them to be unable to replicate and eventually die off. This method is known as mitotic interference and is based on the fact that cancer cells divide more rapidly than normal cells, making them more susceptible to the effects of the electric fields.
Using NiTTd is easy and non-invasive and have few side effects compared to other cancer treatments. However, more research is needed to fully understand their effectiveness and to determine which types of cancer they may be most beneficial for.
The technology is typically used in combination with traditional cancer treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation therapy. They have been shown to be effective in treating certain types of brain tumors, such as glioblastoma, and are being studied for use in other types of cancer as well.
